A Weekend Ritual Worth Savoring — Temple Coffee, Folsom

It was a great blue-sky day as I stepped into the Folsom location of Temple Coffee. Large windows, warm white plastered walls with Spanish-style arches greeted my eyes — a welcoming airy space that sets the tone before you’ve even ordered.

I went with my usual: a single-origin oat cappuccino served in a porcelain mug. The baristas, all bright smiles and good vibes, made ordering feel effortless. There’s a massive amount of indoor seating, though if you arrive around peak time — 10 AM — expect most of it to be claimed. Fortunately, the garden seating offers a lovely California sun outdoor experience that pairs beautifully with your drink of choice.

The cappuccino itself was on point and consistent, as always. The crema was so luscious and thick you could practically scoop it up like ice cream before taking your first sip. The single-origin Colombian espresso hit the spot — bright and punchy up front, then leveling off into a smoky, toasted finish that blends seamlessly with the oat milk. Of course, good coffee is partnered with a huge selection of baked goods, spanning both the savory and sweet ends of the spectrum. That said, the classic croissant is always my default, and if you want to go fancy, try the peanut butter jelly donut.

Overall, Temple Coffee Folsom is a must-visit weekend reward for anyone looking to slow down and savor something excellent in the middle of this busy life. It fits in especially well with a day of shopping at the Palladio open-air mall or a warm-up before your Saturday farmers market run across the street.
