The moment you step inside, an industrial barn-style interior greets you — spacious, and surprisingly inviting. Seating is plentiful, which makes it a fantastic refuge on weekdays when your usual spot is standing room only.

Tucked into the corner is the real showstopper: an iconic San Francisco Coffee bean roasting machine that perfumes the entire shop with that deep, intoxicating roast aroma whenever it’s running. It sets the mood before you’ve even ordered.

I went with my usual — an oat cappuccino — and it delivered exactly what I was hoping for. Smooth, toasty, and lightly smoky on the first sip, it’s the kind of cup that makes you slow down and actually appreciate the moment.
